BrainBase — Code of Conduct
Principles, guidelines, and expectations for consultants within the network to adhere to.
This Code of Conduct applies to all members of the network. It governs our behaviour with customers, as well as interactions on BrainBase Slack, meetups, social media, and other professional settings involving BrainBase. As independent consultants representing our own companies, it's essential to maintain a positive impression on customers, team members, and fellow BrainBase members.
What is BrainBase
BrainBase is a network and community for people who want to start their own business, where we help and support each other in that process. Therefore, it is important that we welcome new people, try to give good advice, share knowledge, and support each other.
Our expectations
- Respectful behaviour: Refrain from making inappropriate comments, jokes, or advances, and avoid engaging in any form of harassment, including sexual harassment. Bullying or any kind of demeaning behaviour towards others is strictly prohibited.
- Diversity and inclusion: BrainBase is committed to creating an inclusive envibronment where diversity is celebrated, and all members are treated with respect and dignity. Discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other characteristic is strictly prohibited. We encourage a culture of empathy, understanding, and respect for varied perspectives and experiences.
- Respectful communication: Use respectful language and maintain a positive tone when interacting with others, avoiding any offensive or derogatory remarks.
- Relevanse: Keep discussions on-topic and relevant to the specific channels, ensuring that the information shared is valuable and appropriate for the intended audience.
- Constructive debate: Engage in healthy and constructive debates, recognizing that diverse perspectives can lead to valuable insights and better decision-making. Refrain from personal attacks or aggressive behaviour.
- No Spam or Self-Promotion: The BrainBase platform should not be used for independent recruitment purposes that circumvent the established model of the platform. Members are not permitted to use the network to find and recruit consultants for external projects in a manner that bypasses the platform’s intended processes and guidelines.
- Recruitment to projects not registered on the platform: BrainBase-plattformen skal ikke brukes til uavhengige rekrutteringsformål som omgår den etablerte modellen til plattformen. Medlemmer er ikke tillatt å bruke nettverket til å finne og rekruttere konsulenter til eksterne prosjekter på en måte som omgår plattformens tiltenkte prosesser og retningslinjer.
- Media Sharing: Share files, images, and other media responsibly, ensuring they are appropriate and relevant to the discussion, and do not infringe on any copyrights or privacy rights.
- Confidentiality: Be mindful of sensitive information and maintain confidentiality when discussing client projects, proprietary information, or any other confidential matters.
By adhering to these guidelines, BrainBase members will contribute to a thriving, supportive, and professional community that fosters collaboration, learning, and growth.
Anti-corruption
All consultants in the network must follow our strict rules against corruption.
Reportoing Misconduct
If you are subjected to, or witness, a breach of the code of conduct within the communication channels or at events organised by BrainBase, it can be reported to the BrainBase board or to an administrator on the platform.
Enforcement
In the event of a breach of the Code of Conduct, a warning will be given. In the case of repeated breaches, or breaches that are considered particularly serious, the consequence will be exclusion from the network.
Conflict handling
I tilfelle tvister eller klager innen BrainBase-fellesskapet, vil en rettferdig og gjennomsiktig konfliktløsningsprosess bli fulgt. Denne prosessen sikrer at alle involverte parter får muligheten til å bli hørt, og at løsninger nås på en respektfull og rettferdig måte.
Review and update policy
This Code of Conduct will be reviewed and, if necessary, updated every six months to ensure it remains relevant and effective. We encourage feedback from all members of the BrainBase community.
